The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship race at Phoenix took a turn for the worst as a massive wreck broke out after a Stage 3 restart. Connor Mosack bounced off the wall, made contact with Tyler Ankrum, and from there, it only grew.

Things were going well in this Truck Series championship race. Then they weren’t. This wreck was big enough and messy enough to bring out the red flag, too.

Corey Heim jumped the restart and was penalized for it. But the real story is coming out of Turn 2 when Mosack hit the wall. William Sawalich was involved, Frankie Muniz, Stefan Parsons, and more.

Thankfully, the Championship 4 drivers were able to avoid the wreck. It all happened behind them. But this race is only going to get more sketchy and dicey as it continues. THe finale at Phoenix is always one to watch in the Truck Series.

Ty Majeski appears to be the driver to beat. Corey Heim is giving him all that he can, although this penalty and going to the rear of the lead lap will be tough.

Perhaps this opens the door for Christian Eckes or even Grant Enfinger to make their way forward and win this championship. There is a lot of race left to go.

Ty Majeski on his way to Truck Series championship

When Ty Majeski made the Championship 4, he became arguably the favorite. With how strong Majeski is on short tracks, he was the last driver the other three wanted to see in this championship fight.

As far as spoilers go, Layne Riggs is a potential spoiler for Majeski and the other championship drivers. Riggs has turned a corner in this final stretch of the season. He went from out of the playoffs to earning back-to-back wins.

During the season, Corey Heim won the most races. Christian Eckes won the regular season championship. Majeski and Grant Enfinger are the two drivers who have come on strong late.

When the checkered flag flies, one of those four will be the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion. Who do you see winning?
