What does one driver get another for assisting in a win and a trip to the Championship 4? Well, Chase Briscoe has answered that question. Briscoe answered the call after Ty Gibbs pushed him to the win at Talladega last week and punched his ticket to Phoenix.

Ty Gibbs is still searching for his first win. We saw him get into it with Denny Hamlin a few weeks ago. Since then, Gibbs has started to change his tune on the track. At least with his teammates.

At Martinsville, Briscoe made sure his teammate knew how much he appreciated the help. So, he got Gibbs 108 Coors Banquets and a new boat from Bass Pro Shops. Well…that’s partially true. Gibbs shared the gifts on his Instagram Story.

The note from Chase Briscoe in the photo says, “Ty, Couldn’t get the real boat but hopefully this and the beers will be a small payback for last week. -Chase. P.S. Let me know what kind [of] fishing poles.”

So, it sounds like Chase Briscoe may have another gift for Ty Gibbs coming up in the future. A new fishing pole ain’t so bad for helping your teammate out in the draft in the most high-stakes moment of the season.

Briscoe is having one heck of a season. Ultimately, that benefits JGR and, ultimately, that will benefit Ty as well, either in the short-term or the long-term. What’s good for the family business is good for this young driver as well.

Chase Briscoe looking to block out Team Penske

The goal for Joe Gibbs Racing this weekend is to stop Team Penske from advancing. There is a chance that JGR gets to put three drivers in the Championship 4. They would be a force at Phoenix and would more than likely win the championship with any of the three drivers.

Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano have taken the first three championships in the Next Gen era. What Penske knows about these short, flat ovals is something that has helped guide them to many wins and three straight titles. Getting blocked out of the Championship 4 now would be a considerable upset.

Chase Briscoe has shown that he is a great driver at Phoenix. There is also a comfort in racing against two of his teammates in the final race of the season. At that point, it is almost a crapshoot to see who wins. Ty Gibbs helped him out last week, and he could help him again this weekend if he helps prevent a Penske win.
