Chase Briscoe wins Coca-Cola 600 pole over Kyle Larson, full Cup Series qualifying results

For the second time this season, Chase Briscoe has won the pole in the NASCAR Cup Series. He beat Kyle Larson for the honor. When the Coca-Cola 600 goes green on Sunday, Briscoe will be the one leading the field. Joe Gibbs Racing has a great No. 19 Toyota.
When you beat Kyle Larson for anything at a 1.5-mile track, it’s a big deal. Chase Briscoe now has four career poles, two this season. How about Briscoe having the pole for the Daytona 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same season? How many drivers can say that?
Drivers were putting it all on the line for the pole today. A couple of them got into trouble as they made their way around Turns 3 and 4. 18-year-old Connor Zilisch will start P33 in his oval debut in the Cup Series.
Chase Briscoe continues to slowly get comfortable in his No. 19 ride. Taking over a car that used to belong to a future Hall of Famer like Martin Truex Jr. is not easy. This is his big opportunity in the Cup Series, though. If he can get the momentum going, multiple win seasons shouldn’t be out of the question.
Kyle Larson was only two-thousandths from taking the pole from Briscoe. It would have been phenomenal if Larson could put it on the pole for his Double Duty attempt. However, starting on the front row will have to be good enough for him. Full qualifying results below.
Chase Briscoe went from Cup Series qualifying straight to his Xfinity Series car. He hasn’t raced in the series since 2022 at the Indy Road Course. He raced on the Charlotte oval in 2021 for BJ McLeod Motorsports and finished P6. Should Briscoe be the favorite this afternoon?

Chase Briscoe looking to win Xfinity, Cup races
Earlier today, Chase Briscoe qualified P9 in the Xfinity Series. He will have a good place on the track to start today’s race to work his way up to the front. This is also his first time in JGR Xfinity Series equipment. That might be dangerous for the rest of the field.
Let’s not overlook the other Cup Series talent in the Xfinity Series race, either. Both William Byron and Austin Dillon are racing this afternoon, coming up on The CW. The Xfinity regulars are looking to keep those Cup guys out of Victory Lane today.
From his fitness to his race schedule, Briscoe has had a lot of changes this season. Probably for the best, too. Stewart-Haas wasn’t putting him in Xfinity Series races, and he definitely didn’t have to watch his diet and exercise nearly as much. Now at JGR and with crew chief James Small, that has changed.
Chase Briscoe is having a pretty good Saturday. Let’s see if he can add a win to that before the night is over with.
