For the seventh time this season, Chase Briscoe is on the pole for the NASCAR Cup Series. This time, in the Playoffs. Briscoe could use a great run at Kansas after a lackluster result, as far as points, at New Hampshire. Could it be another win for Briscoe and the 19 team?

Chase Briscoe and crew chief James Small are the qualifying masters this season. They have by far been the best on the track on Saturdays all season long. To have seven poles is no small feat.

This was a strong result for JGR. All four drivers in the top-eight of the qualifying results. Kyle Larson had perhaps the best car in practice, but a caution during the session made the data a little unclear.

Who is going to rise to the top? Chase Briscoe on pole, JGR looks great, and Team Penske had issues. Hendrick is lurking with sneaky good speed from Larson and Chase Elliott. We could be in store for another classic Kansas race.

I really like Chase Briscoe’s chances. He has done so well on the intermediate tracks this season. P4 at Homestead, P4 at Kansas, P3 at Charlotte, a win at Pocono, and a win at Darlington. If he has the fastest car on the track at Kansas, I like his chances of winning.

Denny Hamlin is up near the front. You also have to like his chances of winning with his recent history at Kansas. We don’t know if we are going to get the usual Next Gen race at Kansas or if we will see a driver dominate like Kyle Larson in the Spring. Full qualifying results below:

Chase Briscoe sets the standard in qualifying

No Fords are in the top-10 in qualifying. That might be a problem for Team Penske and others on the track. Chase Briscoe continues to set the pace this season in qualifying. But that doesn’t mean he is going to run off with this race.

JGR locked up the front row for the Xfinity and Cup Series today. That shows just how well this organization knows this track. It doesn’t matter the car, they are putting fast times on the track with every single driver.

Briscoe has emerged as a serious championship contender. His qualifying speed has been a major part of that success. With how important qualifying is in the Next Gen car, you can’t discredit the work that the 19 team has done on Saturdays.

A big day for Chase Briscoe. If he turns this into a win, I have a hard time seeing anyone stopping him from making the Championship 4. He has been at the top of his game lately and already has one playoff win. Is the second coming up?
