Chase Elliott named 2025 NASCAR Most Popular Driver

Chase Elliott is the winner of the 2025 NASCAR Most Popular Driver Award. He was announced as the winner at the NASCAR Awards banquet Tuesday in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Elliott won the fan vote over Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson. It was his eighth consecutive time winning the award.
The Most Popular Driver Award, first awarded to Curtis Turner in 1949, has largely been dominated by five drivers. Bill Elliott, Chase Elliott’s father, holds the record with 16 victories, notably winning it 10 years in a row from 1991-2000. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (15), Richard Petty (8), Bobby Allison (8) and Chase Elliott (8) are next on the list. Earnhardt Jr. retired after the 2017 campaign, ending his 15-year winning streak.

Elliott won his seventh consecutive Most Popular Driver Award in 2024. He had this to say before the event.
“I’ve always tried to take that opportunity to make sure I reflect in a proper manner and represent my family the way I think they would want to be represented throughout the years,” Elliott said. “It’s definitely just a big honor to have … just in general when we travel, you could be anywhere from Darlington, South Carolina to Los Angeles and when you see that type of support spread out across the entire country, it’s kind of wild when you sit back and think about that. I never take that for granted.”
