Chase Elliott makes epic last-lap pass on Brad Keselowski to win Atlanta Cup Series race

The hometown hero! Chase Elliott wins at Atlanta in front of his Georgia friends and family with an epic pass on Brad Keselowski. This race track produces fantastic finishes. NASCAR didn’t need to go to the photo this time, but it was thrilling, nonetheless.
Chase Elliott wins for the first time this season. This is major for the No. 9 team. If they can use this to gain momentum and possibly knock off another win or two, then we can start talking about championship contention.
Get the SI-REEN going. It might be late, but Dawsonville doesn’t have to go to work on Sunday. They will be celebrating this one late into the night. A great move between Alex Bowman and Elliott. The 9 car had a huge run, passed Keselowski and raced off to the finish.
We have to credit Bowman for that move. Then he chose to go for the pass on Keselowski instead of pushing the 6 car. It was a fair move that kept him in the mix for second, and maybe the win if something chaotic happened to the 9, but without giving Keselowski any help.
This is going to be a popular win. Chase Elliott gets it done at Atlanta for the second time in his career. The last time he won there was in 2022. That was the last time Elliott made the Championship 4. Again, it feels like momentum could be shifting for this team and for the driver, especially.

Chase Elliott was aggressive all night at Atlanta
Tonight, Chase Elliott was turned up another notch. He was aggressive from the start of the race to the finish. That is something we usually don’t see with Elliott, especially at the drafting tracks. But he remained aggressive and it paid off.
There were huge runs by Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Brad Keselowski, Alex Bowman, and Tyler Reddick late in this race. Just one haymaker after another. Elliott asserted himself, as respectfully as he could, in front of Bowman. From there, it becomes a team sport.
When you talk about a wildcard race, this was it. But Elliott is anything but a wildcard winner. He has a great points cushion and is going to be in the playoffs. Now, he’s locked into the playoffs with the win. For the drivers on the bubble, this is going to be a popular win. It keeps the bubble from popping for drivers like Bubba Wallace.
Chase Elliott is a winner once again. Georgia is celebrating, a lot of NASCAR fans are celebrating, and Mr. H is celebrating as well. It will be very interesting to see how Elliott performs over the next few weeks at Chicago, Sonoma, and Dover.
