Bears make crucial quarterback decision for Seahawks matchup

The Chicago Bears are down to veteran quarterback Nick Foles for their Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The Bears staff ruled out Andy Dalton with a groin injury. They also ruled out rookie Justin Fields with an ankle injury.
Nick Foles has not yet appeared in a regular-season game in 2021, so the Seahawks game will be his first. In 2020, Foles played nine games for the Bears. He went 202 of 312 for 1,852 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also took a whopping 18 sacks and committed one fumble.
The Chicago Bears are 4-10 on the year and sitting in third place in the NFC North.
So far this season, Justin Fields has taken the bulk of the work at quarterback. He’s played in 12 games, throwing for 1,870 yards but with more interceptions than touchdowns.
Andy Dalton’s overall completion percentage in the six games he’s played is higher than Fields’ and he’s got six touchdowns to six interceptions.
The Bears and the Seahawks kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday. Chicago is no longer in the hunt for a playoff spot and questions linger about head coach Matt Nagy’s future with the team.

Nick Foles to make first 2021 start
Foles, 32, is getting his first action of the season Sunday vs. Seattle. Jacksonville traded Foles to the Bears in March of 2020 after Gardner Minshew took over the Jaguars’ starting role.
Foles is well-known for his two stints with the Philadelphia Eagles; in his first stint, he was named to the 2013 Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in passer rating.
Years later, after returning in 2017, Foles came off the bench after an injury to then-start Carson Wentz and led the Eagles to the franchise’s first Super Bowl victory while winning Super Bowl MVP.
