Chiefs-Jets SNF game reaches historic viewership mark with Taylor Swift in attendance

A record amount of people tuned in to NBC Sunday night to see Taylor Swift featuring an NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) and New York Jets (1-3).
In total, the Chiefs’ 23-20 victory over the Jets garnered an average of 27 million viewers, the most-watched Sunday show since Super Bowl LVII in February. Viewership peaked at more than 29 million viewers during the second quarter.
The biggest jump in viewership compared to previous “Sunday Night Football” games took place among teen girls (age 12-17) — a 53% spike from the season-to-date average of the first three weeks.

Suffice to say, the presence of Swift is a big win for the NFL and TV networks, which continue to see rises in interest and viewership. For that, they have Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to thank, who has been rumored to be in a relationship with the pop superstar. Also helping the cause is the Chiefs are good — like really good, and score lots of touchdowns, meaning we get multiple shots a game of Swift celebrating in her suite.
After Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco took off to score Kansas City’s first touchdown of the night, the camera panned to Swift, who was sharing a box with other stars such as Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman, who looked almost stunned following the 48-yard scoring run.
