Christopher Bell wins All-Star Race, immediately calls for points race at North Wilkesboro

Joey Logano wanted to go back-to-back at North Wilkesboro, but Christopher Bell had other plans in his No. 20 Toyota Camry. The first NASCAR All-Star Race win for Toyota since 2017, and Bell adds his fourth win of the season, including his three points-paying wins.
Who would have thought that North Wilkesboro would be THIS good in year two after a repave? Seriously, whatever it takes to get a points race at this track for the Cup Series, do it, NASCAR.
$1,000,000 richer and a lot of confidence for this No. 20 team. They played the long game and, after taking tires on the final pit stop, after the promoter’s caution, they were able to overwhelm Logano and take the lead.
Fireworks popping in the air, his pit crew hugging him, and a big check waiting in Victory Lane. Logano won the All-Star Race last year and went on to win the championship. Is Christopher Bell next?
Bell led a total of 28 laps tonight. He took the lead four times through the night. Both Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano led more laps than Bell. Logano had 139 laps out front, but came up short.
Like many other drivers asked after the race, Christopher Bell is all for a points race at North Wilkesboro. He wants to see it happen because Wilkesboro is the “best short track on the schedule!”
Joey Logano was upset about the promoter’s caution toward the end of the race. But honestly, despite my concerns and skepticism, it didn’t change a lot about the race. It was a decent run to the checkered flag. Ross Chastain was able to make it interesting in third place.

Even without that caution, Logano was going to have his hands full holding off Bell. All night, we had multi-groove racing. There were cars bumping and beating and banging all night long. Even a few cautions for cause, as drivers had issues with tires and grip throughout the night.
When it comes to Next Gen short-track racing, this was the best we have seen. The thing is, we didn’t even see the leaders get into dirty air in the back of the field. That could have really created an exciting situation as far as the battle for the lead is concerned.
While he is a low-key driver most of the time, Christopher Bell was fired up after this All-Star Race win. Kyle Larson had been stealing the headlines the last six weeks. Larson was the story of the week with his Indy 500 preparation. Today, Bell took it back.
Having Larson and Bell going back and forth this season with race wins, big points days, and more is only good for NASCAR. However, the sport has to start promoting this rivalry. From dirt to NASCAR, the two drivers are always going at it and pushing each other.
So, a fourth win this season, $1,000,000 in his pocket, and a set of races coming up on the schedule that play to many of his strengths… sounds like everything is going Christopher Bell’s way right now in the NASCAR Cup Series.
