Cleveland Cavaliers sign Jaxson Robinson to Exhibit-10 contract

Jaxson Robinson could have entered the draft a season ago and been a selection in 2024. Instead, he returned to college, transferred, and is now a professional player a year later in 2025.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Robinson just a few days after the 2025 NBA Draft. An Exhibit-10 contract is heading the way of Robinson, getting the opportunity to show his worth.
Robinson played five collegiate seasons at four programs in Texas A&M, Arkansas, BYU, and, finally, Kentucky. He appeared in 120 games in that career
Robinson didn’t have much success over his first three years in total with the Aggies, Razorbacks, or Cougars. Then, by year two at Brigham Young, he developed into having a career-high in scoring, averaging 14.2 points (42.6% FG, 35.4% 3PT on 2.5 makes), 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists as he would go on to be named Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year. Then, after withdrawing from the draft and following Mark Pope to UK, Robinson had his best year overall in posting 13 points (43.2% FG, 37.6% 3PT on 2.6 makes), 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists as he was later named a finalist for the Julius Erving Award. However, after a wrist injury in practice early in February, he would be limited and eventually sidelined with a successful, season-ending surgery on it by the start of March.
Robinson, from Ada, Oklahoma, was the No. 82 overall recruit and a four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting cycle. He rated as a Top-20 SF in the class and the No. 2 player out of the state of Oklahoma, behind only Bryce Thompson (Oklahoma State, Kansas). That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

What NBA Draft experts are saying about Robinson
Robinson projects first as a scorer at the next level, specifically a shooter at 1.9 triples per game in college, and a potential defender second with his height of 6’6″ and wingspan of nearly 7’0″. That’s right in the build of a three-and-defense wing at the next level, as noted by his draft profile by RotoWire.com.
“Robinson is a skilled wing known for his sharpshooting and versatility. He excels as a shooter, making him a constant threat from beyond the arc,” they wrote. “Defensively, Robinson contests shots and disrupts passing lanes. While not an elite defender, his length and awareness enable him to guard multiple positions effectively.”
“Robinson projects as a reliable 3-and-D wing at the NBA level, capable of providing instant offense off the bench. His shooting ability and versatility as a defender make him an ideal fit for teams seeking floor spacing and perimeter defense,” they wrote.
