Collin Murray-Boyles shares moment with girlfriend, South Carolina star Chloe Kitts after NBA Draft selection

Collin Murray-Boyles is headed to the Toronto Raptors after being selected No. 9 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday. After commissioner Adam Silver called his name, the former South Carolina forward shared a touching moment with Gamecocks women’s basketball star, his girlfriend, Chloe Kitts, before taking the stage.
The two embraced as Murray-Boyles made his way around the draft table set up for his family. The first hug went to Mom, then his grandmother before lingering on the hug from Kitts before dapping up his brother and embracing his father.
Both Murray-Boyles and Kitts spent the past two seasons together at South Carolina. Kitts has been there for three seasons while Murray-Boyles played for the two.
Kitts held off on turning pro after her junior season, while her boyfriend will be heading to Toronto as a top-10 NBA Draft pick. She’ll be back in Columbia as a senior seeking her second national championship in three seasons under Dawn Staley. The Gamecocks came up just short this season, losing in the NCAA Tournament title game to Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies.
For Murray-Boyles, he was one of the few bright spots for the Gamecocks men’s team this past season. He impressed during a successful freshman campaign, averaging 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 28 appearances. However, his impact only grew as a sophomore, improving his numbers to an average of 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in 32 appearances.

Despite his success on the court, South Carolina finished 12-20 overall and was knocked out of the SEC Tournament in the first round by Arkansas. This came after the Gamecocks finished as a No. 6 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and were ranked as high as No. 11 in the AP Top 25 Poll during the regular season.
Now, he’ll join a Toronto Raptors team that finished 9.0 games back from the Eastern Conference play-in at 30-52 overall. There is some uncertainty surrounding the team, as speculation surrounding leading-scorer RJ Barrett and a potential trade away from the Toronto has made the rounds.
He’ll look to make a strong first impression on his teammates during the upcoming 2025 NBA Summer League before becoming a regular piece in the Raptors’ rotation beginning this season. Meanwhile, Kitts will be headed back to South Carolina in preparation for her senior season.
