Colorado Rockies respond to FanDuel's Scottie Scheffler troll after sweep of Miami Marlins

A FanDuel graphic made rounds on social media recently, making fun of the Colorado Rockies while praising Scottie Scheffler. Yes, a weird crossover but Colorado and Scheffler both had three wins, dating back to May 4, when the golfer won The Memorial Tournament on Sunday. As brilliant as Scheffler has been, it speaks more to how bad the Rockies are.
Well, a few days later, the tables have certainly been turned. Colorado went down to Miami and found a way to pull off a three-game sweep of the Marlins. It’s the first multi-game win streak of the year for the Rockies. They have since made sure to let social media know of their accomplishments.
Scheffler even got back in the mix. The official Rockies X account responded to the FanDuel post, outlining how many wins they each have since June 2. You can check out the full post here.
Sweeps have been quite rare for Colorado over the past week. USA TODAY’s Bob Nightengale pointed out how the Rockies have not earned one since May 13-15, 2024, against the San Diego Padres. The drought was at 57 series without a sweep, the longest in franchise history.
An opportunity to extend the winning streak to four will come on Friday. The Rockies will head back home to Coors Field where the New York Mets will be waiting for them. Seven of the Rockies’ 11 wins have come at home however, they have not won there since May 23 against the New York Yankees.

Moving over to Scheffler, he will not be in action this week. The PGA Tour hops across the border into Canada for the RBC Canadian Open. A loaded field is participating but Scheffler is not one of them despite his current hot streak.
The following week is likely when Scheffler will be back. Bethpage Black is set to host the US Open, a tournament Scheffler has yet to win in his career. Two of the four majors required for the Grand Slam have been checked off, including this year’s PGA Championship. All that’s left is the US Open and the Open over in the United Kingdom.
Finding a way to catch up to the Rockies again would be quite impressive for Scheffler. For now, it’s the baseball team that gets to have some fun. A win streak for them means some of the fired shots get to come from their end.
