Philip Rivers is back in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, and Michael Pittman Jr. is happy to have him back. On3 recently spoke to the veteran wide receiver, who reflected on playing with Rivers back during his rookie season and what he brings to the table now.

“Playing with Philip was my rookie year, so I was kind of just trying to catch the lay of the land, and everything was moving so fast,” Michael Pittman Jr. told On3. “But one thing I know about Philip is the way that he operates, the way his mind works, he’s going to get you in the right play. He knows what the defense is trying to do. And I think that is what gives him that edge.

“And even still now, people are talking about he’s 44. I mean, yeah, when you think about it, that may be up there, but his mind is still working as good as it’s ever been. So excited to see what happens. I mean, we still don’t know much about the situation, but obviously, we’re bringing him in, so we’ll see what transpires.”

Pittman’s rookie season was in 2020, which was the final year Rivers played in the NFL before now. Rivers came out of retirement this week to help the Colts address their quarterback issues after Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Rivers was signed to the Colts’ practice squad, but he has been elevated to the 53-man active roster and will likely start on Sunday when the team takes on the Seattle Seahawks.

Michael Pittman Jr. is staying ‘fresh’ with Oral-B

While Pittman prepares to play with Rivers again, he is keeping up his oral hygiene through his partnership with Oral-B, the official toothbrush of the NFL. Pittman is promoting the Oral-B iO Series Electric Toothbrush, as he’s one of the featured player ambassadors.

“I think personally, if you want to be fresh, you got to be fresh. Right?” Pittman said. “So you got to get them whites pearly white. And when you feel fresh and then you play fresh. So I thought it was perfect.”

Pittman is not the only member of the Colts working with Oral-B. Blue, the team’s official mascot, has debuted a new set a teeth thanks to the brand, and Pittman loves his new look.

“Blue’s got the biggest teeth that I’ve ever seen,” he said. “I mean, you got that big old gap in there, but man, those things are pearly white, so it looks great.”
