Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels won’t play again this season, but he is staying active by giving back to the community. Last week, Daniels appeared in the East Room at Union Station to gift 100 Raising Cane’s branded bikes and helmets to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington.

On3 submitted questions to Daniels while he was at the event, and he was asked about his plans for the holidays. “Washington Commanders got a football game on Christmas,” Daniels replied to On3’s question while speaking to reporters at the press conference.

On Christmas Day, the Commanders will host the Dallas Cowboys at 1 p.m. ET. Daniels will not play in the game, as the team announced the star QB will sit for the final three games of the year due to him reaggravating his dislocated left elbow last week against the Minnesota Vikings.

It’s been a challenging 2025 season for Daniels, who won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2024. But his partnership with Raising Cane’s has led to hundreds of children having a happy holiday season with the donation of the bikes.

Jayden Daniels shares more on his community work

“It means a lot just to be out here and be able to give back to the kids and see how happy they are,” Daniels said at the event. “So I appreciate Cane’s. I appreciate the Boys and Girls Club.”

The bike donations aren’t the only thing Daniels has done during the holidays. Through the Jayden Daniels Foundation and the Commanders, the former LSU QB did something big to make sure families don’t go hungry.

“Anything for as far as community outreach, the youth, giving back to the youth,” he said. “We just did a turkey drive, partnered with the Commanders. So each and every year we just go out there and try and do some more.”

This was Daniels’ third bike giveaway with Raising Cane’s. The partnership began in 2023 after Daniels won the Heisman Trophy. At the time, Daniels donated 100 bikes to the Boys and Girls Club and Big Buddy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Last year, Daniels donated 100 bikes to the Boys and Girls Club of Anne Arundel County and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington.
