Connor Zilisch, Jesse Love crash CW NASCAR broadcast during lightning delay at Atlanta

What does Connor Zilisch do with his time during a weather delay? He grabs his buddy Jesse Love and asks to be interviewed on TV. The CW was doing weather delay coverage during the NASCAR Xfinity Series race. Then, the two young drivers popped up on the screen.
Connor Zilisch told the broadcast that he had essentially gotten board during the delay. He saw other drivers being interviewed on TV through the broadcast at the track. So, he walked from his pit box to the media center and asked to be interviewed.
It didn’t take long for Zilisch’s friend to pop up. The two drivers then started joking around.
“I think my car’s as fast as Xfinity Mobile,” Love interjected over Zilisch. “I think you’re in trouble.”
Love kept going as the two drivers held back laughs. He even brought out the vaunted “bro code.”
“I pulled out of line, I had a big run on him, and then he broke bro code again, and he side drafted me. Pretty hard,” Love went on after some back and forth.
“There is no bro code on the race track,” Zilisch responded. “He broke it at Talladega, actually.”
Of course, Jesse Love made contact with Connor Zilisch at Talladega earlier this season. It ended up causing the JR Motorsports driver to miss the Texas Xfinity Series race. However, Zilisch got the last laugh in this instance.
Once Pocono was brought up, a race Zilisch won over Love (P2), the RCR driver ducked off camera and left. After 36 laps on track, the 88 is sitting second in this Atlanta race. The 2 car is third.

Connor Zilisch chasing Sheldon Creed for first 36 laps
Before the red flag came out and the cars were brought down pit road, it was Connor Zilisch chasing Sheldon Creed for most of this opening stage. When the race goes green, it will be a dash to the stage finish.
For Creed, this race has gone very well. But the real challenge will come at the end of this stage and then every lap after that. With lightning in the area, once this race gets to the halfway point, it becomes official. From there, another lightning delay could be the end of the race tonight.
Connor Zilisch might be thinking if he can get to the lead sooner than later, he might have a win if this race has another delay. But every driver is thinking that now, including Creed and Love and Sam Mayer. These drivers who have fast cars are wondering what they need for an adjustment, or what they can do to get up front. Because this race could end early tonight.
