Connor Zilisch wins Roval pole, full NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying results

Who else but Connor Zilisch? The 19-year-old has once again won the pole in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. This time at the Roval. Of course, we have seen Zilisch win on all kinds of tracks at this point, but there is no denying he is most comfortable on the road courses.
On top of Connor Zilisch winning the pole, JR Motorsports swept the first five spots in qualifying. Zilisch, Justin Allgaier, Connor Mosack, Sammy Smith, and Carson Kvapil were all flying in the session. The 88 was almost a full second quicker than the 1 car.
The Roval is full of surprises. Drivers get a little wild when they are out on the oval/road course hybrid. Let’s see if anyone can take Zilisch down later tonight.
Really impressive run from Corey Day. For him to put up a P6 result in qualifying on this track with his experience level is a massive move. You could argue that JRM has the first three rows locked down with Day and Hendrick taking that final spot.
Anyone can win this race. We have seen that the Roval throws curve balls at every series that has raced on the track now. That’s why I’m also interested in Austin Green and Kaz Grala on Row 5. Those two part-timers are coming in to shake things up, and I think they have the talent and speed to do it.

Connor Zilisch will be hard to beat. Full qualifying results below:
Connor Zilisch already locked into Round of 8
Last week, both Connor Zilisch and Justin Allgaier locked into the Round of 8 on points. Brandon Jones, of course, locked in with his win at Kansas. So, there are five more spots in the next round and nine drivers to fight over those spots.
A win for any playoff driver not already locked in would advance them to the Round of 8. But that will be easier said than done. JR Motorsports has this race under control right now, based off of qualifying alone. Now, this track will change as the sun sets tonight. But Zilisch will be the man to beat.
On Friday, we saw Corey Heim and Layne Riggs get wrecked on Lap 1, Turn 1. That incident was more detrimental to Riggs than to Heim. Despite being covered in BearBond, the 11 truck won the race in overtime.
So, nothing is guaranteed for Connor Zilisch. That won’t make him any less formidable on the track.
