Controversial NFL review fools Seahawks, gives Cardinals possession after Kyler Murray interception on TNF

Controversy fell on Thursday Night Football during the first quarter. What was an interception for Seattle Seahawks DB Coby Bryant quickly turned into a five-yard gain for the Arizona Cardinals.
Bryant picked off Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray during the opening minutes of the Week 4 matchup. Bryant was brought down, but lost the ball on the way down. Video evidence appeared to show Bryant down before losing the football. Instead, the Cardinals were awarded the fumble recovery.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks defense was celebrating in the end zone thinking they had just given the ball back to their defense. Instead, they were going to be playing the next snap once the review was finished.
In the end, the officials concluded that upon review, the runner was not down by contact and the play was upheld. The ruling of a fumble recovered by Arizona stands.
The Cardinals would snap six more plays on their drive spanning 33 plays and 4:09 on the game clock. They finished the drive with a field goal. Instead, the Seahawks would find the end zone first on the next possession. QB Sam Darnold hooked up with TE AJ Barber for a 16-yard touchdown reception to give Seattle its first lead of the game.
Bryant’s interception stands because it occurred before the fumble. However, this wouldn’t be the only interception thrown by Kyler Murray in the first half. After a 10-play, 40-yard drive, Murray was picked off by Seahawks LB Ernest Jones IV and returned it 29 yards to set Seattle up in Arizona territory.
