The Dallas Cowboys are going to be without starting center Cooper Beebe for a few weeks due to an injury. However, conflicting reports on exactly what is bothering Beebe have popped up. The latest update came from Todd Archer of ESPN on Monday.

“Told by a source, Cooper Beebe does not have a high ankle sprain,” Archer said via X. “He is dealing with a lateral sprain of the ankle as well as a fracture of a small bone in his foot, which leads to the 6-8 week timeframe.”

Earlier in the day, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Beebe having a high ankle sprain. However, one area Rapoport and Archer appear to agree on is the timeline. Dallas likely will be without Beebe for six weeks, if not extending all the way out to two months.

The early portion of the timeline lines up with an Oct. 26 trip out West to play the Denver Broncos. If Beebe does miss eight weeks, he might not return until after the team’s bye week.

Beebe left Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, leaving a hole in the middle of the Cowboys’ offensive line. Brock Hoffman is the team’s backup center and steps into the starting role with the hope of no drop off. We did see a botched snap between him and quarterback Dak Prescott but hopefully, a week of practice can work out any kind of kinks.

More on Cooper Beebe, early career with the Dallas Cowboys

Beebe is in his second season with the Cowboys. The organization selected him with the No. 73 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Beebe played and started in all 16 of the Cowboys’ games as a rookie last season.

In his debut campaign, Beebe allowed just three sacks on 1,059 snaps. Pro Football Focus graded him as the 20th best center in the league. As a fresh face on an offensive line that had lost longtime leader Zack Martin, Beebe quickly became a fan favorite in Dallas.

“He’s commanding the communication within the group, and demanding people listen,” Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams said of Beebe. “He’s making those with conviction… He’s strong, he’s got good balance, and he’s tough and consistent.”

Before being drafted by the Cowboys, Cooper Beebe spent five seasons at Kansas State, where he amassed 51 career appearances and 48 starts. Beebe was a two-time Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year and three-time first-team all-conference selection.
