Cooper Beebe injury update: Cowboys center's status, timeline revealed

Dallas Cowboys center Cooper Beebe is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a high-ankle sprain, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport expects the Cowboys to place Beebe on injured reserve.

Beebe limped to the locker room after the game with the help of other players. He reportedly used crutches following the Cowboys’ 40-37 win over the New York Giants. Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer didn’t have an immediate update on Beebe at the time.

Beebe was key to the Cowboys’ victory. In the win, Dallas only gave up three sacks. In turn, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott completed 38-of-his-52 pass attempts for 361 yards and two touchdowns, compared to just one interception.

Beebe is in his second season with the Cowboys. The organization selected him with the No. 73 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Beebe played and started in all 16 of the Cowboys’ games as a rookie last season.

In his debut campaign, Beebe allowed just three sacks on 1,059 snaps. Pro Football Focus graded him as the 20th best center in the league. As a fresh face on an offensive line that had lost longtime leader Zack Martin, Beebe quickly became a fan favorite in Dallas.

“He’s commanding the communication within the group, and demanding people listen,” Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams said of Beebe. “He’s making those with conviction… He’s strong, he’s got good balance, and he’s tough and consistent.”

Before being drafted by the Cowboys, Cooper Beebe spent five seasons at Kansas State, where he amassed 51 career appearances and 48 starts. Beebe was a two-time Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year and three-time first-team all-conference selection.

In his final season with the Wildcats, Beebe was named a unanimous All-American. Now, Beebe will look to recover as quickly as possible, so he can rejoin his team for the back half of their season.

Brock Hoffman is expected to start in Beebe’s absence. He replaced Beebe following his injury on Sunday. Hoffman has been with the Cowboys since 2022. He’s made 39 career appearances in the NFL, including nine starts.

Seven of those starts came last season. Hoffman will have a week to get comfortable on the starting front five before the Cowboys look to start a win streak when they square off against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. CDT. The game will air live on FOX.
