Corey Heim was the class of the field at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Saturday afternoon. However, he wasn’t able to close the deal and notch another victory during his 2025 NASCAR Truck Series campaign.

Racing for the win, Layne Riggs pushed Heim up the track, and the No. 11 Toyota got loose and spun. Unfortunately for Riggs, he couldn’t hold on to the lead, and he had to settle for being the runner-up, as Chandler Smith was the beneficiary.

As Smith enjoyed his burnout and the spoils of his win, Heim searched up and down pit road for Riggs. Check out the video of their heated confrontation below, as Josh Sims of FOX Sports tracked him down.

“Just why, more than anything,” Heim told FOX, regarding what he wanted to learn from Riggs. “He tried to do it to the No. 7 last week for the win. Mission accomplished for him this week I guess, and it cost him one too. I don’t know. Just brutal.

“I mean, we’ve given up so many of them this year, after pretty much dominating most of this race. The No. 38 was the only other guy that was rightfully good, so he probably deserved to win if anybody, not the No. 34. We got really loose into (turn) three, we struggled being loose in the short runs. He had an opportunity and he wrecked me.”

Thankfully, Dustin Long of NBC Sports got up close and personal with his video. He caught Heim’s message NSFW to Riggs: “You’re racing like a f***ing idiot. You need to calm down or I’m going to take care of you,” Heim stated.

As you can tell, it seemed like Heim did all the talking, and Riggs bit his tongue. Afterwards, FOX caught up with the runner-up on Saturday, and he delivered some poignant words, not willing to apologize for racing for the win on the final lap.

“He was displeased,” Riggs stated. “I feel like he got really loose heading into three and four, and I had a huge run and I went bottom. I didn’t fence him. I slid him up the track. Gave him one lane there. We’re at North Wilkesboro on the last lap for a truck win, I feel like I didn’t really do anything wrong there.

“I feel like, roles reversed, it was hard racing all day. Everybody came out of there alive. We had a good finish. I really only care about me and my team.”

Alas, this seems like a racing deal more than anything. It’s not hard to see why either driver feels the way they do after what transpired, and both Corey Heim and Layne Riggs believe they’re in the right. At the least, it wasn’t an egregious finish like we’ve seen in the past from the Truck Series.
