Absolute disaster for Corey Heim, Layne Riggs, and Grant Enfinger. Lap 1, Turn 1, and this race has turned into a mess. Enfinger got into the back of Riggs and then the leaders were wrecking. No caution from NASCAR, but a few beat-up trucks.

A caution was eventually thrown out after Ben Rhodes wrecked by himself. This race has taken a wild turn at the very beginning. This could end up changing the Truck Series Playoffs completely.

Corey Heim had a +69 point cushion on the cutline. Now, that could be cut in half by the end of this race. Heim and Riggs both his pit road, but their day is going to be a struggle at this point.

Turn 1 at the Roval is the most dangerous place on the track. Year after year, we see drivers hit that barrier time and time again. So, it isn’t shocking. What is shocking is to see the wreck really happen before the turn.

For Layne Riggs, the spin was not that big of a deal. Mostly cosmetic issues. After going to pit road, Riggs feels like he can race back up through the field. Corey Heim appeared to have more damage. His truck is now covered with BearBond and tape.

This is the first time the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has raced at the Roval. There is going to be a learning curve for these drivers. Now, Heim and Riggs and Enfinger get to learn a whole lot as they race from the rear to the front again.

Corey Heim will have to earn fifth straight road course win

Going back to 2023, Corey Heim has won the last four road course races in the NASCAR Truck Series. In 2023 and 2024, the series only went to a single road course. This year, the series has visited three road courses. The Roval is the third on he schedule.

For Heim, it will be a test that he didn’t ask for, but NASCAR fans will love to watch. Seeing drivers with his talent have to race their way up to the front of the field is priceless. You just don’t get it that often. To do it in a truck covered up in tape would be even more impressive.

We have seen Corey Heim dominate all year. Now, we get to see him work from the back of the field to the front. There have to be a lot of other drivers thinking that they now have a chance to take advantage of this. The two winningest drivers in the series this year are racing from the back and have damage. Let’s see who rises to the occasion.
