Corey LaJoie fuels Carl Edwards NASCAR return speculation with hilarious video

What is up with Carl Edwards? We saw him driving a Porsche with Trevor Bayne, and now he’s in Corey LaJoie’s Cup car? The NASCAR Hall of Famer is only going to get people’s hopes up and the rumor mill buzzing.
Carl Edwards keeps saying that he isn’t going to get into a NASCAR Cup car again. Then we get videos like today with Corey LaJoie.
It looks like Edwards was at the Rick Ware Racing shop today. He was sitting in the No. 01 of LaJoie with his Stacking Pennies Performance team. Looks like LaJoie lost his ride… again.
In videos posted today on Instagram, Trevor Bayne drove around with Carl Edwards in a sports car. The duo were at Flatrock Motorclub in Tennessee, ripping fast laps. In those videos, Bayne said he’s not trying to start any rumors. Maybe Edwards is, though.
Then again, I think this is just Carl having fun. He has been away from the sport for almost a decade and now that he feels comfortable coming back, well, it’s great to see. NASCAR fans are going to read into this what they want to; just keep doing you, Carl.
Now, I’m here to burst a few bubbles, folks. Trevor Bayne, Carl Edwards, and Corey LaJoie are all going to be part of the Prime Video broadcast group. I’m sure that they are doing media hits and likely production work ahead of the six-race schedule coming to the streamer.

Carl Edwards isn’t getting into a Next Gen Cup car
I’m sorry to tell everyone, but the chances we see Carl Edwards get into a Next Gen Cup car on an actual race track are slim to none. Emphasis on none. Let’s be honest with ourselves, he was offered a great opportunity to do it this year and turned it down.
Last year, Kyle Larson had Kevin Harvick practice his car for him at North Wilkesboro for the All-Star Race last year. Larson was busy practicing and qualifying for the Indianapolis 500. This year, Larson offered up that role to Edwards. He turned it down.
Hendrick Motorsports, Kyle Larson, the allure of North Wilkesboro – none of that was good enough to convince Edwards. Unfortunately, it looks like we will just see Justin Allgaier take those duties for Larson as he did for the Coca-Cola 600 last season.
Carl Edwards in a Porsche with Trevor Bayne, sitting in Corey LaJoie’s car; it doesn’t mean much. But I can’t blame fans that hold onto that sliver of hope.
