Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer got a chance to see Micah Parsons make his debut with the Green Bay Packers. While speaking to reporters, Schottenheimer shared his thoughts on the Packers’ season opener against the Detroit Lions.

“I did see a little bit of the game,” Brian Schottenheimer said on Monday, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I was flipping back and forth. Green Bay looked good.”

Schottenheimer was then asked his thoughts on Parsons. “I saw him running around out there,” he said. “Looked like he was having fun. That’s good.”

Schottenheimer got a chance to watch the game because the Cowboys faced the Philadelphia Eagles to kick off the 2025 NFL season this past Thursday. In the first game without Parsons on the roster, the Cowboys lost to the Eagles 24-20, and the defense recorded one sack.

Micah Parsons reacts to Packers fans embracing him

In Late August, the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Packers for two first-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark. In the opener, Clark played in 42 of the Cowboys’ 63 snaps and recorded five tackles.

Parsons made a big impact in the Packers’ 27-13 win over the Lions, despite playing in just 30 of the team’s 67 defensive snaps. The former Penn State star registered one sack and three quarterback pressures against Detroit.

After the game, Parsons spoke to CBS Sports about the fans showing their love for him when he was first introduced. “I can’t lie, it gave me chills,” he said.  “This environment, the first time, how they embraced me, the fans — this was one of one. This was really just a blessing in disguise. My man J Love [Jordan Love] told me it would be this nice, and nothing he could’ve said — I couldn’t imagine it’d be like this.”

“It makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said about Packers fans erupting for Parsons, per Michael Silver of The Athletic. “Not that I have any — ’cause I go with this bald fade. But it makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck for sure. That might be the loudest I’ve ever heard our crowd.”
