Going back to his junior year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., Dallas Cowboys rookie right guard Tyler Booker has blocked for an impressive list of quarterbacks: J.J. McCarthy, Bryce Young, Jalen Milroe and now Dak Prescott.

It’s only been two games, but Booker is so far enjoying getting the chance to play with Prescott. He called him a “true competitor” on Thursday, someone who makes everyone around him more comfortable in the huddle.

“It’s a lot of fun. Dak is a true competitor,” Booker said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I’ve been very blessed to play with a lot of great quarterbacks. My last few quarterbacks from my junior year of high school were J.J. McCarthy, Bryce Young, Jalen Milroe and now Dak Prescott. I’ve been very blessed to have a lot of great quarterbacks.

“Dak, he’s different. All those guys have that ultimate confidence to them and they make you feel a lot more comfortable when you get in the huddle with them.”

Prescott, 32, has the Cowboys’ offense in a good spot. Through two weeks, Dallas is averaging 392.5 yards per game, third in the NFL. They are one of five teams averaging at least 30 points per game.

Dallas has found some balance on offense thanks to the emergence of running back Javonte Williams, an under the radar free agent pickup this offseason. But it’s Prescott who has wowed the most, playing the position as well as anyone in the league. Prescott has thrown for 549 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 68.6% passing.

Dak Prescott playing with high confidence

It’s been a different story for the Cowboys’ defense, the No. 30 ranked unit in football. There are a lot of things for Dallas to clean up on that side of the ball. Until then, Dallas will rely on Prescott and co. to win them games. Prescott said that right now, he’s playing with as much confidence as he’s ever had.

“Yeah, most definitely. I’d say it’s the experience. I just say it’s the experience on top of all the work,” Prescott said. “Everything, all of that adding up, compounding, really. Just the years of playing this game and seeing defenses.

“And when you’ve got guys like CeeDee [Lamb] in his prime and you got a guy like George [Pickens] that we were able to add, two elite guys with the rest of the crew [KaVontae] Turpin, Jake [Ferguson], a great run game, it’s hard not to be [confident].”
