The Cowboys and Eagles might be division rivals, but Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott had nothing but positive things to say about Lincoln Financial Field. It probably won’t help his cause among the fanbase, though.

This weekend, Dallas travels to Philadelphia for an important NFC East showdown. The Eagles sit atop the division (7-1) with the Cowboys not far behind (5-2). It’s the first of two meetings between the teams.

Prior to the Sunday clash, Prescott was asked about the environment at Lincoln Financial Field. He compared it to his college playing days in the SEC … a huge compliment for the venue.

“It’s just a good atmosphere for football, honestly. I guess you could say growing up in the SEC, a lot of different venues and stadiums that you can feel it when you get near the stadium,” Prescott said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

“Eat, sleep, breathe the game of football, the fans’ excitement, the atmosphere, the close games, the energy. When you walk into (Lincoln Financial Field), it’s no different. It feels like some of those old Saturday nights, fans are going to get loud, you gotta make sure your communication is top notch. And then it’s always fun getting a win up there.”

As much as Prescott complimented the Eagles and Lincoln Financial Field, fans in Philly will probably hold on to that final comment … especially if the Cowboys don’t escape with a victory.

Mike McCarthy hopes Rangers success rubs off on Cowboys

As the Cowboys prepare for Sunday’s game against the Eagles, the Texas Rangers took care of business in the World Series. The Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0 in Game 5 on Wednesday night, securing a championship.

Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy hopes that success rubs off on his team heading into this weekend’s clash.

“Those Rangers. Such an unbelievable run,” McCarthy said Thursday morning. “I think what really jumps out to me is winning the games on the road. Hopefully, we get a little luck from those guys there. That was a great series. A great playoff run.”

So far, the Cowboys are in great position with a 5-2 record. But a win over the Eagles would be a huge boost of confidence and would give the team a leg up in the divisional race, too.

Sunday’s contest between Dallas and Philadelphia is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET with the game airing on FOX.
