For the first time in their careers, QB Dak Prescott and OLB Micah Parsons faced off against one another. It ended up being nothing but respect, especially with the game ending in a tie, but Prescott couldn’t believe one thing coming out of their matchup on Sunday Night Football.

After the 40-40 tie in overtime between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, Prescott spoke with NBC’s Melissa Stark about the game, including his thoughts on facing his former teammate in Parsons. He said it was great competition against him and his new team, with it even better as he thought Parsons didn’t get to him tonight.

“It was fun. As I told you, it was great competition, friendly competition. No words were even spoken,” said Prescott. “I don’t think he got me. I don’t think he sacked me. Got me for one from behind right there in overtime.”

However, Stark would tell Prescott there that the play he was referring to actually went down as a sack in the box score for Parsons. Prescott initially disagreed in disbelief, but quickly conceded the stat to his past teammates.

“No way,” Prescott said in reacting to what was called a sack in the end.

“That’s alright. That’s alright,” said Prescott. “There he is right there. That’s alright. He can have it. He can have it.”

The much-anticipated matchup in Week 4 between the Packers and Cowboys didn’t end in a way that was as exciting as the game. No one led by more than eleven throughout, with it remaining a one-score or three-point game either way from the second quarter on, but, after the ten-minute overtime, Green Bay and Dallas left the game with a tie on their records at 40-40.

The reason for that anticipation was the return of Parsons to Dallas after the Cowboys traded him to the Packers back in August following a contract dispute. It wasn’t as big a night for him, but his presence was felt still with three tackles, three quarterback hits, and what was later ruled as a sack for him on Prescott. That was a big play in overtime too to keep his former quarterback out of the end zone as he caught him on the four-yard line on a play where he likely would’ve scored had he not. Instead, Dallas settled for three, Green Bay tied it with a field goal with one second left, and neither team won or lost.

Prescott questions timing of final Green Bay play in tie with Dallas: ‘Felt funny’

After a Sunday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers ended in a 40-40 tie, Dak Prescott appeared to question the officiating, specifically the game’s deciding final play.

Green Bay drove down the field in overtime trailing 40-37, with the Packers needing at least a field goal to tie or a touchdown to win. After running a play to get to third down with about 20 seconds remaining on the clock, the Packers attempted to get one more play off as QB Jordan Love snapped the ball and fired a pass to the end zone with the clock ticking down. The ball was incomplete in the end zone with about one second left, or at least that was how the officials ruled it.

“Trying to wrap my head around a tie. One second left on the clock felt funny,” Prescott told NBC’s Melissa Stark. “It was a great game, great competition. That’s why you’ve got to love Sundays. Great job by them, great job by us competing. Wish we would have came out with the win.”
