Dak Prescott injury update: Jerry Jones gives concerning answer on Cowboys QB

Dallas Cowboys (3-5) owner Jerry Jones said he is “concerned” about the hamstring injury quarterback Dak Prescott sustained in the third quarter of Sunday’s 27-21 Week 9 road defeat to the Atlanta Falcons (6-3), per Jon Machota of The Athletic.
“I am concerned about that,” said Jones, when asked his concern level of Prescott missing time. “It concerned me when I saw the play. I saw him have a reaction to any weakness he might have had there in his hand. We just have to take a look at that.”
Prescott injured his hamstring on one of his final throws of the game. After Prescott let go of the ball, he appeared to be in pain based on the expression on his face. He was evaluated in the blue medical tent before Dallas ruled him out. Prescott was also dealing with swelling in his throwing hand.
Prescott completed 18-of-24 passes for 133 yards and one score before leaving the game. Cooper Rush replaced him under center in the fourth quarter, completing 13-of-25 passes for 115 yards and a four-yard touchdown strike to receiver Jalen Tolbert.

Cowboys ‘concerned’ about Dak Prescott’s hamstring injury
The Cowboys’ offense struggled against Atlanta, as they have done all season long. Prescott is having a down year, having thrown for 1,845 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Dallas has now dropped three consecutive games and next up is a pivotal NFC East home matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles (5-2). The Cowboys have underwhelmed offensively this season with Prescott under center, and those struggles could continue if Prescott is sidelined for any amount of time.
Rush, however, proved to be a capable backup option after Prescott missed five games during the 2022 campaign with a broken right thumb. Rush came in and led the Cowboys to a 4-1 record in his absence.
