Four games into the 2025 season, the Dallas Cowboys own just one win. Sunday night’s tie against the Green Bay Packers brought the overall record to 1-2-1. Not the start quarterback Dak Prescott wanted but a couple of opportunities pop up on the upcoming schedule.

Dallas flies to New York to face the Jets before another road game vs. the Carolina Panthers. Their combined records are 1-7 heading into Week 4. Prescott believes this two-game stretch will ultimately reveal a lot about who the Cowboys will be throughout the year.

“I think these two coming up, we should know exactly who we are after that,” Prescott said via ESPN’s Todd Archer. “We should know exactly what we’re capable of. We should know our strengths. We should know our weaknesses. We should be fixing the things that we need to fix to make sure that we’re just better each week as we move forward.”

While the Jets are 0-4, three of the losses are by less than a score. New York’s average margin of defeat is 7.5 points, heavily inflated by the 20-point loss to the Buffalo Bills. Yes, it’s one Prescott might be feeling like Dallas should win but trends tell us a tight one is coming.

Looking ahead a week — we saw the Cowboys go into Bank of America Stadium last season with no issue, winning 30-14. Prescott watched from the sideline due to his long-term injury. Cooper Rush led the charge, throwing for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Those are numbers Prescott would take in a heartbeat to go along with a victory.

After these games, the strength of schedule kicks up a notch or two. Prescott hopes to see positive things against New York and Carolina, hoping to get Dallas to 3-2-1.

More on Dallas Cowboys following tie vs. Green Bay Packers

There is not much information out there on how the Cowboys play following a tie. You have to go all the way back to 1969 for the franchise’s last, coming against the San Francisco 49ers. Games were still being played inside the Cotton Bowl. Other venues where Dallas played to a tie include the original Busch Stadium in St. Louis and Yankee Stadium.

AT&T Stadium can now be added to this list, much to the frustration of everyone involved. Prescott looked confused about how to feel during his postgame interview on NBC. Many fans at home likely feel the same way after a thrilling 40-40 result.
