Before Jalen Carter could log a defensive snap on the season, he was took an ejection. Spitting on Dak Prescott was enough to get the Philadelphia Eagles star thrown out of the contest, also serving a one-game suspension. Not his finest moment, especially with the entire world watching on NFL opening night.

Eleven weeks later, Carter is set to once again face off against Prescott. If there is going to be any conversation between him and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Carter will begin it. Even so, Prescott joked about what the interaction might look like.

“Depends on what he says first, but probably something friendly,” Prescott said via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “Get on his good side.”

Carter and Prescott appeared to be sizing each other up before the first offensive series for Dallas. Words were certainly exchanged but so was some spit from Carter’s end. A tough blow for Philadelphia in a rivalry game, even if they went on to get the win.

We should probably get used to these two going toe-to-toe. Prescott is a part of the long-term plans for the Cowboys, being in the first season of a four-year contract extension. Philadelphia does not have any plans to get rid of Carter either, holding two more years on his rookie deal. For entertainment’s sake, more spirit conversations are more than encouraged.

Dak Prescott provides update on new hip injury

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer began the week by revealing Prescott is dealing with a hip injury. At the time, he did not seem too concerned with the issue. Prescott joined him on Thursday, saying it’s nothing to be worried about heading into the Eagles game.

“I’ll be completely fine,” Prescott said. “I’ve played with much more soreness.”

Dallas surprised some people by putting together a good performance back in Week 1 vs. Philadelphia. Prescott was a part of the equation, even if the numbers do not fully back that up. He threw for 188 yards while completing 61.8% of his 34 attempts. No touchdowns or interceptions were added.

Of course, the goal for Sunday is to eventually come away with a win. The Cowboys find themselves in a critical stretch of the season, needing to string together wins in order to make a late-season push for the playoffs. This game against the Eagles begins a run of three games over the course of 10 days.
