Saturday was special for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports. 100 wins in the history of the organization and more to come. Connor Zilisch got the job done once again, winning his third race in a row. He has contributed six of those NASCAR Xfinity Series wins himself.

Justin Allgaier and Connor Zilisch both wanted to be the driver to win the 100th race for JRM. With Allgaier wrecked by Kyle Larson late in the race, Zilisch filled the void and got the job done by taking down Taylor Gray.

In the post-race press conference, Dale Earnhardt Jr. appeared a bit emotional as he talked about the significance of 100 wins. He took the time to thank everyone who has ever worked for JR Motorsports.

“Yeah it’s a big deal, man. I was, I guess, the one thing I would like to say is, thank you to every employee that opened the door and walked through that building in the last, I don’t know how many years,” Dale Earnhardt Jr. said. “Everybody that’s working upstairs in the office, everybody on the shop floor, I don’t care if you pushed a broom, clean a toilet, or build a superspeedway car that we went to Daytona with. It takes every single employee to move all that forward and to keep it going.

“So, everyone or anyone who stepped in that building had an influence on anything we ever did. That goes with all the drivers, obviously, too. There’s a list of great drivers that were behind the wheel of our cars over the years that have helped us win all these races. You don’t set out to win 100 races, you just set out to win the first one you can, you know, to get one win and then maybe another and then maybe another. And you just stack it together, and then you try to stack years together, try to give your partners value. It’s been a fun ride, it’s been rewarding and wonderful.

“There’s been some tough times and some hard times, but it’s what you’re willing to go through to have the great moments and protect the livelihood of your employees, too. It’s been awesome. Special place to win at Indy. Connor did an incredible job to get the lead back and to be able to win the race. It’s a special day.”

So, it’s clear how much the day means to Dale Earnhardt Jr. 100 wins is very significant. It is a milestone that shows how great JRM has been for years. It is an organization that has fostered some of the biggest names in the sport.

While it is the Xfinity Series, make no mistake – the competition is fierce. To get 100 wins in this series is a testament to the talent in the shop and behind the wheel.

During the season, both Justin Allgaier and Connor Zilisch have looked like championship drivers. When Phoenix comes, only one man will be able to claim the title of Xfinity Series champion. Will one of them deliver another championship to Dale Earnhardt Jr.?
