Dale Earnhardt Jr. questions whether another NASCAR driver can reach 60 Cup wins, names candidate

After seeing Denny Hamlin win his 60th NASCAR Cup Series race, Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn’t sure if there will be another driver who will reach that mark. On the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Earnhardt looked at which drivers have the best chance to get 60 career wins.
Earnhardt first said that Kyle Larson “could do it.” He then took a look at Joey Logano and said that he “needs to run better during the regular season” to win 60 races. Earnhardt added that Logano, who has 37 career wins, will easily get to 50 and will likely end his career with 55.
Another driver Earnhardt mentioned was Brad Keselowski, who currently has 36 wins. Dale Earnhardt Jr. doesn’t believe Keselowski will get to 60 wins, saying that he “will be lucky to see 40.”
Earnhardt then circled back to Larson and said he could do it “if he wants to race long enough.” Larson currently has 32 wins, and Earnhardt believes that Larson will not be in the Cup Series full-time long enough to reach 60 because he could focus on dirt racing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. says more drivers are retiring at younger ages
Chase Elliott is another driver Earnhardt mentioned that could get to 60 wins. But he believes the Georgia native will retire before he gets the chance to reach that mark. Elliott currently has 21 wins in his career.

It looks like Earnhardt doesn’t think that most of the top drivers will reach 60 victories because they won’t race as long as the drivers did 30-40 years ago. The NASCAR Hall of Famer said when he was younger, it was “common to see guys race beyond 50.”
“That number is sort of creeped down,” Earnahrdt said. “It really does feel like that these guys are going to keep retiring earlier and earlier. We don’t have any hard evidence that’s going to happen, but what is that?”
Hamlin and Kyle Busch are the two active drivers who have 60 wins. Busch hasn’t won a race since the 2023 season, but Hamlin, who is 44 years old, has won six races this year and is inching closer to winning his first Cup Series title.
