Dale Earnhardt Jr. reacts to Amazon, TNT NASCAR broadcast stretch ending

Dale Earnhardt Jr. returned to the broadcast booth for the NASCAR Cup Series this summer with Prime Video and TNT Sports. After the Brickyard 500, NBC Sports is taking over, and the NASCAR Hall of Famer will get a bit of a reprieve until 2026.

After Bubba Wallace’s epic win in Indiana, Earnhardt Jr. waxed poetic about what the last two-plus months have meant to him. The two-time Daytona 500 winner looked back at some good times, while also sending a message of yearning for next season already.

It's been a fun 10 weeks back in the booth for Amazon and TNT. Love doing that job and look forward to next summer. Gonna enjoy going back to fan mode for the rest of this year.

“It’s been a fun 10 weeks back in the booth for Amazon and TNT. Love doing that job and look forward to next summer,” Earnhardt Jr. posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Gonna enjoy going back to fan mode for the rest of this year.”

At least Earnhardt Jr. will still be commenting on the weekly storylines in NASCAR. He’ll have his Dale Jr. Download podcast. Regardless, it was awesome hearing his insight in real-time again, providing excitement in each and every race since the Coca-Cola 600.

FOX and NBC might be more traditional NASCAR Cup Series partners, but Prime Video and TNT Sports had a great run with Dale Earnhardt Jr. involved. There was a lot of fun had, and they’re passing the baton off to NBC with the sport’s coverage in a great spot moving forward.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. reacts to Bubba Wallace winning Brickyard 400

Bubba Wallace broke his 100-race winless streak and captured the Brickyard 400 on Sunday. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was impressed. Crew chief Charles Denike called a great race, and his driver had just enough fuel to get the job done. 

It’s the first win for Wallace since Kansas in 2022. He was great all weekend long. From practice to qualifying to racing. It was a complete weekend for the No. 23 team.

After the finish, Earnhardt Jr. praised Wallace and his crew chief. The strategy was great and it all worked out in the end. Even with two overtime restarts. 

“Heck of a job by Bubba Wallace and his team to be able to do what they needed to do today,” Earnhardt stated, via the TNT broadcast. “Changing that cutline and creating storylines, another dynamic result or finish to this Indy race here. And it’s so interesting to me, you think every year, these crew chiefs have upped the game.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. summed up his thoughts with a simple sentence. He had to give credit to the strategy call. “Just incredible, incredible strategy.” 

Alas, it was a tremendous moment to end Dale Jr.’s time in the booth in 2025. As mentioned, his ten races are up after being with Amazon and TNT for the last two and a half months, but it was great to have him back on Sundays.
