Report: Dallas Cowboys among teams interested in Davante Adams

Davante Adams made it official on Tuesday, requesting a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, and there’s a myriad of teams interested in making a deal for the superstar wide receiver.
The New York Jets have been a popular potential destination, due to Adams’ relationship with Aaron Rodgers, but a new report has placed the Dallas Cowboys firmly in the middle of the drama, as they look to bolster their wide receiving corps outside of CeeDee Lamb.
“The Jets and Cowboys are among the many teams monitoring the Davante Adams situation. Both have checked in with the Raiders,” Diana Russini of The Athletic reported. “I’m told at this point that Vegas is in no rush to make a move until a team reaches their asking price — but Adams wants out ASAP.”
Adams would be a nice piece to add to the Cowboys offense, if Dallas can pull off a deal. The wide receiver is in his third season with the Raiders after coming over via trade from the Green Bay Packers in 2022.
He originally signed a five-year, $140 million extension with Las Vegas and still has three years remaining. He did not suit up against the Browns, as he dealt with a hamstring injury in Week 4.

Questions about Adams’ future in Vegas further grew after head coach Antonio Pierce appeared to “like” an Instagram post. It included a screenshot of a post from Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano telling fans not to be surprised if Adams played his last snap with the Raiders.
Through three games this season, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown after an up-and-down 2023 season. He turned in his lowest production since 2019, totaling 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns as the Raiders struggled.
Moving forward, it’ll be fascinating to see if the Raiders do in fact strike a deal to send the wide receiver packing, and if Davante Adams can rekindle his past success with a different team. Evidently, the situation in Las Vegas has become volatile, and it’s time for the two parties to end their relationship, and give the wide receiver a fresh start.
