In the third episode Hard Knocks, an HBO show which profiles the Dallas Cowboys, viewers get a behind-the-scenes, three-minute drone tour of  The Star in Frisco. The state-of-the-art campus is located 30 miles north of downtown Dallas.

The video begins outside, winding through the shopping center and outdoor amenities, and features iconic audio from the team’s history.

The 91-acre campus features a 12,000 seat indoor stadium, located inside of the Ford Center, which is shared by the Cowboys, the City of Frisco and Frisco Independent School District. It is used for Cowboys practice and local high school games. The Ford Center has all of the normal amenities of a practice facility: a weight room, locker rooms and team rooms, plus the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters. Additionally, Baylor Scott & White has a sports therapy and research center on the property.

The Cowboys are one of the NFL’s most storied franchises as fans can see along the Nike Star Walk and Super Bowl Memorabilia Station. The space is available to rent for events, and fans can take tours of the stunning campus.

The production team had three hours to film the video due to an indoor boxing match taking place later that day. The shot took 15 takes. They nailed it.

Jones: Prescott will be ready for season opener

The Cowboys had a top-notch offense last season before quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending broken ankle. They averaged 36.2 points, 371.2 passing yards and 488 total yards per game. All three statistics were the top in the NFL.

Prescott is still on the road to recovery, albeit not just pertaining to his ankle. He strained his latissimus muscle, but he threw over 50 passes in a pregame workout last weekend.

“I guess he went too many. He was supposed to throw 46, he threw 51?” Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy joked. “He hit the target for number of throws. I got a chance to watch it, I thought he looked good and the most important thing is how he feels afterwards. I thought he had another good day and the opportunity to go back-to-back is important. He’s still building up on the volume of throws.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has denied claims that the quarterback will not be ready to start against the reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Cowboys’ season opener on Sept. 9.

“He threw with authority and accuracy before [Saturday’s] game,” Jones told 105.3 The Fan before the game, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “If we were lining up against Tampa tonight, he’d be starting, and we’d feel great about it.”

Last week there were reports that Prescott may not be 100 percent all season after dealing with both the shoulder strain and last season’s broken ankle. NBC’s Mike Florio noted Prescott’s throwing motion had changed, suggesting the difference could be related to wanting to put pressure on the healing ankle.
