Dallas Cowboys make case to host NFL Combine

Since 1987, the annual NFL Combine has been held in Indianapolis, with only two other destinations having the chance to host the event — Arizona and New Orleans. That could be changing sooner rather than later, with the NFL looking to bring the combine to a new location.
For Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones, he thinks the DFW metroplex would be a fantastic host for the event. He discussed the possibility of Dallas being a real possibility, saying it would be great for Cowboy fans across the city to experience it in person.
“Indy has been a great host,” Cowboys COO Stephen Jones said, via the team’s website. “If the league so chooses to move it, which it sounds like they might, we’d certainly love to be at the top of the list if we can.”
“I think it would be great for our fans,” Jones said. “To have it in our market, have the experience of being around it. It’s a positive thing. I think people can’t get enough of the NFL and football. It’s great for them to see these young players in our market and be a great experience for them.”
Jones admitted they are “in the early stages” of discussing where the 2023 NFL Combine should be held but is eager to get the event at one of the Cowboys’ facilities. Whether it would be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington or at The Star in Frisco was not mentioned by the Dallas executive.

Two star players expected to miss NFL Combine
Two of the biggest named players in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft are not going to be participating in the combine according to Ian Rapoport on the NFL Network. Both Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle Evan Neal and LSU Tigers cornerback Derek Stingley are expected to wait until their Pro Day to work out in front of teams.
“Bama OL Evan Neal, a potential top overall pick for the NFL Draft, will wait until his Pro Day on March 30 to work out, source says,” Rapoport tweeted. “He’ll participate in interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine, but after a long season, he’ll take a few extra weeks to prepare.”
“#LSU CB Derek Stingley Jr., perhaps the top CB in the draft, will wait until his Pro Day on April 6 to workout, source said,” Rapoport said on the LSU cornerback. “Stingley had surgery for a Lisfranc injury during the season and is nearly 100%. But not quite there yet, so no workouts at the Combine.”
