Dallas Cowboys: Friday injury report released for Week 5 vs 49ers

The Dallas Cowboys reached a significant milestone on Friday, practicing all five of the starting offensive linemen for the first time since before Week 1. The injury reports for the Cowboys and 49ers revealed the majority of injured players are on track to play in the Sunday Night Football matchup.
“We’re on target,” head coach Mike McCarthy said. “Tyron (Smith) did everything he was asked to do today. We’ll see how tomorrow goes, but we’re definitely heading in that direction.”
Left tackle Tyron Smith has missed the past two games for Dallas as he recovers from a minor knee injury. With him out, the Cowboys haven’t been able to start the best five on the field through the first four weeks. First, it was left guard Tyler Smith out. Then center Tyler Biadasz missed time, along with Smith.
Now, the Cowboys can finally start Smith, Smith, Biadasz, Martin and Terence Steele against the 49ers. The second-year left guard reacted to the good news before practice.
“Tyron’s reputation speaks for itself,” Tyler Smith said, via Jon Machota. “He’s obviously a big, powerful dude, so you know on them B blocks on whatever it’s going to be great movement. He’s a vet when it comes to the pass game, so his pass pro is always going to be solid.
“Just having that presence. I’m confident with everybody that’s next to me, but having him right there is gonna be huge, for sure. … It’s going to be awesome.”

As the host squad (and undefeated squad), San Francisco is the favorite to win the Sunday Night Football matchup. Las Vegas oddsmakers have Dallas as 3.5-point underdogs after they were bounced by the 49ers from the playoffs last season.
Injuries will play an important part in the outcome of the game between the two rival squads. The final report of inactive players will come out with an hour and a half to go before the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday.
