The Dallas Cowboys and tight end Jake Ferguson have agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension worth $52 million in new money, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The deal includes $30 million guaranteed.

He will receive a $12 million signing bonus. Ferguson’s deal was done by his agent, Jack Bechta. The deal makes Ferguson the seventh-highest paid tight end in the NFL, and the highest-paid TE in Cowboys history.

Ferguson is entering the fourth season of his rookie contract after being selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He was the team’s third-leading receiver in 2024 with 59 receptions for 494 yards.

Across his first three seasons with the franchise, Ferguson has caught 149 passes for 1,429 yards and seven touchdowns. Five of those scores came during the 2023 season — his most productive so far. He appeared in all 17 games for Dallas during the regular season and hauled in 71 receptions for 761 yards.

The 2025 offseason has been a big one of Ferguson already, and the contract — along with the guaranteed money and signing bonus — has topped it off as the Cowboys get going in training camp. Back in April, Ferguson and his then-girlfriend, Haley Cavinder, announced their engagement.

Cavinder is a former women’s college basketball player at Miami as well as a social media star with her twin sister, Hanna. The duo played together at Fresno State from 2020-22 before arriving at Miami in 2023. After a year away from the game, they returned to the court in 2024-25 with the Hurricanes after Haley Cavinder de-committed from TCU to head back to South Beach.

Cavinder started dating Ferguson in September 2023, meaning they’ve been together for a little over a year. Now he’ll enter his fourth year with the Cowboys after making the Pro Bowl in his second season with the team in 2023.

The Dallas Cowboys will help kick off the 2025 regular season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Sept, 4. Kickoff for the matchup is set for 8:20 p.m. ET and will air live on NBC and Peacock.

Dallas finished 2024 7-10 after losing quarterback Dak Prescott to injury for the second half of the regular season. This came after the Cowboys won 12 games in each of the past three seasons. Dallas will look to return to form with a healthy Prescott under center, as well as a couple of key additions offensively.
