The Dallas Cowboys are relatively healthy heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Cleveland Browns, but Dallas will be down a tight end. John Stephens has been ruled out for the game, the Cowboys announced on Friday.

Stephens is in his second year with the Cowboys after playing college football at Louisiana. He caught eight passes during the preseason.

Outside of John Stephens, everyone else on the Cowboys roster was a full participant on Friday’s injury report and will play in the season opener.

As for the Cleveland Browns, starting right tackle Jack Conklin is listed as questionable for the game with a knee injury. Conklin has been a limited participant in practice this week. Conklin is a former first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He has been named first-team All-Pro twice.

On the other side of the offensive line, starting left tackle Jedrick Wills is slated to miss the opener against Dallas. Wills was a limited participant in practice on Friday but he is listed as out for the game on the injury report.

Wills is also a former first-round pick who was drafted out of Alabama in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys are certainly more healthy than the Cleveland Browns heading into Sunday’s season opener.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shares latest on Dak Prescott, Mike McCarthy

Elsewhere with the Dallas Cowboys, the contract situation of quarterback Dak Prescott has been heavily discussed this offseason but with the season opener just two days away, Jerry Jones is done talking about it.

Jones, speaking on 105.3 The Fan Friday, said ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 road contest against the Cleveland Browns that he has nothing to say concerning contract negotiations with Prescott.

“I won’t be discussing anything at all about Dak’s business or contract at this particular time,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

The same goes for head coach Mike McCarthy who like Prescott, is working with one year left on his contract. Dallas previously announced McCarthy, who has led the Cowboys to three consecutive 12-5 seasons, wouldn’t receive a contract extension ahead of the 2024 campaign.
