Before the Dallas Cowboys are officially on the clock, the franchise released its newest NFL Draft hat on Tuesday, one that each prospective Cowboys rookie will wear for the 2022 Draft.

The Cowboys’ draft hat features a black cap, navy blue brim, and silver italic-font block text that says “Cowboys.” In front of the team name is smaller, white script font that reads “Dallas.”

The 2022 NFL Draft is nearly upon us, as the weekend-long draft will kick off on Thursday, April 28, lasting three days until the final round on Saturday, April 30.

The Cowboys, fresh off an NFC East title, will look to rebuild its roster ahead of the 2022 season, looking to once again earn a playoff berth. The Cowboys have plenty of draft capital to reload their roster, too, as the franchise boasts nine picks across the seven-round draft, thanks in part to trades that gave the Cowboys extra late-round picks.

The Dallas Cowboys 2022 NFL Draft picks are as follows:

Round 1 – No. 24 overall

Round 2 – No. 56

Round 3 – No. 88

Round 4 – No. 129

Round 5 – Nos. 155, 167, 176, 178

Round 6 – No. 193

Mike McCarthy: How Amari Cooper trade impacts Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb

The Dallas Cowboys return a lot of key contributors for the 2022 season – with one glaring exception being former star wideout Amari Cooper. On Tuesday, head coach Mike McCarthy discussed what trading Cooper to the Browns means for third-year wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

“I think it changes his landscape on and off the field,” McCarthy said, via Michael Gehlken. “That’s the position (flanker) where you have more primary receiver opportunities.”

Lamb, the Cowboys’ first-round pick in the 2020 draft, already led the team last season with Cooper on the team, but without him, he could push into the top-10 rankings in 2022. In 2021, he had his first 1,000-plus yard season, posting 1,102 yards on 79 receptions with six touchdowns. He finished No. 17 in total receiving yards and didn’t crack the top 20 in scores.

Though Lamb had more yards than Cooper with 865, he had two more touchdowns and only 16 fewer targets. His absence will limit Dak Prescott’s options but gives the former Sooners star a massive chance to impress as he approaches free agency in 2023. Lamb is going on year three of his four-year, $14 million rookie deal.
