According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Dallas Cowboys and second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku have agreed to a rookie contract. Ezeiruaku was the final Cowboys draft pick without a deal, now having the entire rookie class locked up just a few days before training camp begins.

“The Cowboys and second rounder Donovan Ezeiruaku have agreed on a four-year deal, according to a source, which means all of their picks are under contract as the team flies to California Sunday for training camp,” Archer said via X.

Dallas took the Boston College product with the No. 44 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Some felt as if Ezeiruaku was worthy of being selected on Thursday night. Instead, he fell all the way to the Cowboys in the second round. Everyone at The Star is hoping they got incredible value at one of the more important positions out there.

Getting to quarterbacks is what Ezeiruaku does. In 12 games last season for BC, he recorded 21 tackles for a loss, most in the ACC. His sack numbers pop off the stat sheet as well, getting 16.5. That number, once again, led the ACC and was second in all of college football.

When Ezeiruaku showed up for minicamp, the impressions were instantly positive. Cowboys head coach Brian Scottenheimer made his thoughts pretty clear with an incredible quote on the rookie pass rusher.

“He’s doing really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really great,” Schottenheimer said. “You can’t watch the guy and not get excited just watching him do the things that we’re doing out there on the grass, the things that we saw coming out of Boston College. And then the work ethic is elite.”

Now, more of the same is wanted when the Cowboys land in Oxnard. Schottenheimer might be entering his first season as the head coach but an important one is ahead. Everyone inside the building knows the pressure of winning and badly wants to deliver.

If Dallas does want to break through, the pass rush will play a massive role. Ezeiruaku is joining a loaded position group, headlined by Micah Parsons — who is dealing with a contract negotiation of his own. Opposing offensive lines will have multiple different guys to scheme against.

Week 1 will be a matchup against one of the best as well. The Cowboys go up against bitter NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. Some extra juice will be in the building as the Eagles lift their Super Bowl banner.
