With the Los Angeles Chargers apparently out of media rooms at SoFi Stadium on Monday night, the Dallas Cowboys‘ Spanish announcing team had to broadcast from the typically neutral and quiet environment of the press box. The unlucky situation resulted in the broadcast team erupting in excitement on several occasions as the Cowboys took down the Chargers 20-17.

In a clip from the press box, the broadcasters are filmed yelling out the call of Dak Prescott‘s 18-yard touchdown run in the first half – while the rest of the press box sits silently.

It was a hilarious scene and a good reminder for the Chargers of why radio broadcasting teams don’t always go live from the official press box.

Prescott’s 18-yard dash was the Cowboys’ longest rushing touchdown of his career. It also marked the longest by a Cowboys quarterback since Jon Kitna had a 29-yard touchdown run in 2010 against Detroit.

Cowboys quiet critics with bounce-back win

It wasn’t the prettiest outing but the Cowboys are now 4-2, and just one loss behind the Eagles and 49ers.

“A lot of talking this week,” Mike McCarthy said after the game, via ESPN. “So they’ve been quiet. They worked hard … I just loved their resilience and fight, and we came out on top.”

Dallas is one of eight teams with four or more wins mid-way through the month of October. The last nine times the Cowboys have started the season with a 4-2 record, they’ve made the playoffs seven times.

“It’s early in the season but 4-2 or 3-3, it’s a huge difference. Yeah, it just is,” Prescott said. “Yeah … it’s early in the season. I’ve been in a 3-5 season that we turned around and went on a win streak and won the division … but 4-2, second road win of the year, against a great team, against a great offense, great defense.”

The Cowboys get a break now for Week 7 but when they return to action, it’s against the 3-3 Rams. Then they’ll travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles. Resilience will be key in both matchups.

“We haven’t had close game, but this is what the NFL is about,” Prescott said after the win. “That’s all I said is we’ve got to get used to this. We’ve got to stay confident in this, understand that these close games, one-score, field goal games, touchdown games, we’ve got to believe in ourselves, finishing it on our terms with the ball in our hands and thankful for our defense right there getting us that ball.”

Coming off his worst game against the 49ers, Prescott finished the win against L.A. with 312 total yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also took five sacks but led the team in rushing.
