Don’t look now, but Dana White is about to be a familiar face around the NASCAR garage as we get to the 2026 season. White was seen with a Kaulig Racing Ram Trucks polo last night at the UFC 322 face-offs. He is reportedly part of the new NASCAR organization in some capacity.

Dana White started to get interested in NASCAR a few years ago, it seems. Many times, the Spring date for NASCAR in Las Vegas overlaps with a UFC event in town as well. So, NASCAR and UFC are not total strangers.

There was some flirtation with Nitro Circus and things like that. Now, it’s clear that White is at least somewhat involved in the new Ram Trucks program at Kaulig Racing. Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal highlighted the Kaulig connection this morning.

Having a name like Dana White in NASCAR can be a good thing. It can bring a lot of eyeballs and attention to the sport. To have him involved with a series like the Craftsman Truck Series is a big deal simply because of the exposure that series needs.

With how well the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series did on The CW this year, how can we get the Truck Series in a similar position? NASCAR has ideas about how to grow the lower tiers of the sport, but under the current media agreement, its options are rather limited.

Dana White can help grow NASCAR Truck Series

It feels like the Cup Series has an identity. It’s where the biggest stars face off each week in NASCAR’s most prestigious series. Then, the O’Reilly Series, where names are made. That series has produced legitimate stars recently. From Ty Gibbs and Noah Gragson to Jesse Love and Connor Zilisch. This series has let these drivers shine at an early age.

So, what’s the identity of the Truck Series? At times, it feels like the redheaded stepchild of the group. Not necessarily forgotten about, but not really paid much attention. Everyone says that the Truck Series is the best way to prepare for the Next Gen car now. So, when are we going to see a real identity given to a series that should have one?

Craftsman tools and pickup trucks, that’s blue collar as it gets. You’ve got drivers like Layne Riggs, Kaden Honeycutt, Gio Ruggiero, and more coming up from the grassroots ranks and finding success in the Truck Series. It is the series where you have to watch your back constantly, not knowing when the next wreck is going to break out. A series that you have to be as wild as the next guy in line on the restart to succeed.

I’m not sure how to really make that identity work for the Craftsman Truck Series. But perhaps the addition of Ram Trucks and Dana White to NASCAR will help move things along.
