During an appearance on Pardon My Take on Thursday, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy revealed Bill Belichick‘s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, had messaged him a thumbs down emoji on social media. While Portnoy didn’t initially understand why Hudson had sent him the cryptic message, Pardon My Take co-producer Hank Lockwood reminded Portnoy he’d suggested UNC should part ways with Belichick.

“I said something to that effect,” Portnoy recalled. “(Then) she DM’d me a thumbs down. That’s like The Godfather (when) ‘Luca Brasi’ swims with the fishes, I didn’t like getting that thumbs down. I was mad, I bet $200,000 on UNC and they looked like ass.

“They’re +6.5 against—who—Duke this week. … I don’t know what he’s doing when he’s coaching,” Portnoy continued. “This last game, I watched it all, it was so depressing. They had no urgency, they’re huddling with like three to four minutes (to go) down two scores, then he calls timeout with like 20 seconds left. So, I was like, (Belichick) has to retire.”

Evidently, Hudson appreciated Portnoy owning up to his comments. On Friday evening, the Big Noon Kickoff crew member posted a screenshot on X of Hudson following up her previous message with a thumbs up emoji.

In fairness to Portnoy, Belichick didn’t give him much to be happy about in the Tar Heels’ 28-12 loss to Wake Forest last weekend. North Carolina was riding a two-game win streak into the matchup and oddsmakers expected a close battle.

Instead, the Tar Heels gave up 414 yards of offense while only logging 257 yards themselves. North Carolina’s run game particularly struggled. North Carolina averaged just 2.3 yards per carry on 24 rushing attempts.

Hudson’s ominous message to Portnoy is far from the first time she’s made headlines this year. Before the season began, there was a media frenzy around Hudson following an awkward appearance by Belichick on CBS Sunday Morning.

Hudson reportedly interrupted the interview multiple times and shut down questions that veered outside of her approval. Additionally, fans were left scratching their heads when Hudson was spotted on the field at North Carolina’s practice.

While Jordon Hudson hasn’t been at the center of the media’s attention lately, she’s clearly still tuned into what others are saying about her and Belichick. On Saturday, UNC will look to bounce back from its loss as it squares off against Duke at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air live on the ACC Network.
