David Gravel goes after Kyle Larson following on-track incident at Eldora

Drama at Eldora Speedway after the World of Outlaws race. David Gravel did not appreciate how Kyle Larson raced him at the finish. Gravel and Larson were trading slides in the last few laps, and the full-time Outlaw had had enough. He spun the NASCAR driver after the finish.
David Gravel and Kyle Larson put on quite a show last night. They perhaps overshadowed Rico Abreu’s big night, as he took the checkered flag in the Knight Before race. Tonight is the coveted King’s Royal, which will pay a whopping $200,000.
After trash-talking in the post-race interview, Larson and Gravel went back and forth on Twitter to continue the beef. Gravel doesn’t believe Larson raced him with respect and made a point to say it.
“Two of your top [High Limit] drivers got hurt this week, maybe that would open your eyes on how to race with respect,” Gravel wrote in response to a Larson tweet. “If you and all your fans think [that’s] how you race in a sprint car is racing with respect you are fooled. I will take all the smoke. As far as the contract better make it good.”
Kyle Larson made a last turn, last lap pass on David Gravel to take third in the race. Gravel felt that the slide jobs were too intense. Larson is a part-time dirt driver since his full-time job is in NASCAR. To Gravel, he feels that the Hendrick driver doesn’t have enough to lose to push it that hard at the end of a race. Then again, what’s the point of racing?

David Gravel calls out Kyle Larson after Knight Before
Drivers have every right to be upset when things don’t go their way. David Gravel finished P4 in a hotly contested race and one of the biggest of the year. Going into the Saturday night finale tonight with $200,000 on the line – that’s a big deal.
Larson never once spun Gravel. The two didn’t make contact and ramp off of each other and into the fence. A move was made on the last lap for position, and that’s what you do until the checkered flag. Constantly racing for that next spot. Sure, Larson finished P3. What if Rico Abreu and Carson Macedo were to get DQ’d? That P3 would be a coveted position, then.
Still, Gravel was not happy. He thinks that Kyle Larson has a vendetta.
“He’s been running me the same way for the last couple weeks and it started at Huset’s. And he’s got a vendetta towards us. We can keep playing that game but eventually it’s not going to be good, but he should be a professional. He thinks our team’s not professional and uh, he should be the ultimate professional when he’s not driving like that on the race track. So, we’re friends but I guess right now, we’re not.”
A new rivalry? Perhaps a little momentum for Kyle Larson going into this NASCAR weekend at Dover?
