Shilo Sanders did not make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster coming out of training camp. The NFL dream is not completely dead, though. Sanders recently worked out on the West Coast for the San Francisco 49ers with the hopes of finding a role.

To this point, no movement on a potential move for Sanders. However, he might have spent time in California to discuss a little more than football. His father, Deion Sanders, provided an update on the current status of the former Colorado defensive back.

“Shilo is an entertainer,” Sanders said. “If I close my eyes and pick a kid that’s going to make it out of my five, Shilo will make it. That’s who he is. He also had a workout with the 49ers this past week. I said, ‘Son, just a random question. When was the last time you run?’ He said, ‘I’ve been working out.’ ‘I know you like a book, son.’ But Shilo is hilarious, man. He’s an entertainer. He was in California last week, meeting with a bunch of agents because he has the opportunity to do movies and sitcoms and YouTube content.”

Deion clearly has confidence in his son’s future, no matter which avenue is taken. Football still appears to be a goal, signaled by working out for the 49ers. However, there is a decent backup plan available if nothing comes to fruition.

This is actually not the first time Deion discussed Sanders potentially getting into acting. Just a week ago, there was a prediction about Sanders eventually getting into the industry — something Coach Prime almost did himself.

“Once upon a time, I was gonna surrender one of the sports, I’m not gonna say which one, but to go into acting,” Sanders said. “And it’s almost like God pulled a carpet out of it, because the movie was gonna be shot in New Orleans.

“I was gonna be like this undercover cop infiltrating his corrupt police … I think that’s the avenue that, or streaming … that Shilo is gonna go down. Because he has that gift, ma … You know, it’s a very attractive personality. He’s just fun. He’s just a fun kid, man. And I’m proud of him right now. He’s had a couple interviews, couple opportunities.”

Sanders spent two seasons in Boulder with his father before entering the 2025 NFL Draft. He did not hear his name called — instead signing with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent.
