Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is not listed on the injury report for Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. Overshown had missed the previous nine games to start this season as he recovered after tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL in Week 14 of last season.

Overshown practiced for the first time on Oct. 22 and has been slowly working his way back with this date in mind. He’s right on schedule and will return to the field for the first time in almost a year.

A third-round pick out of Texas in the 2023 NFL Draft, Overshown has already had two major injuries in his career. He missed his entire rookie season due to a torn ACL suffered in the preseason.

As such, Overshown has played only 13 games across his pro career thus far, all of which came last season. He looked impressive in that span, recording 90 total tackles, five sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and four passes defended.

Overshown is keeping his expectations level heading into his first game back, but is excited for the opportunity to return to the field. He spoke last month about his motivation to prove to those worried about the severity of his injuries that he can bounce back and return to previous form.

“I’m excited for it,” he told ESPN. “It’s not going to be anything short of extraordinary. I’m ready to show truly how blessed I am. A lot of people claim that this knee injury is one of the worst of the worst and not too many people come back the same afterward. I’m ready to put that to the test.”

Dallas enters this contest having lost three of its past four games, so hopefully Overshown’s return can provide the defense a much-needed boost. Kickoff against the Raiders is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday and will be televised on ABC/ESPN.

DeMarvion Overshown to become first Cowboys player to wear No. 0

DeMarvion Overshown will also be making a change to his jersey number this season, switching from No. 13 to No. 0. He will become the first player in Dallas Cowboys history to wear No. 0 after the NFL made a rule change permitting the number to be used.

Overshown also wore No. 0 in college, where he was the first Longhorns player in history to do so. He spoke on what the opportunity to wear the number again means to him as well as its place in franchise history.

“As soon as they changed the policy where you can now wear No. 0 in the NFL, I just knew it was meant to be,” Overshown said. “Being the first one to wear it at Texas, growing up a Longhorn and a Cowboy in the great state of Texas — I wear it as a badge of honor. It’s not too many people that get to say they’re the first to do anything, and to say I’m the first wear No. 0 at Texas and the first to do it in Dallas Cowboys’ history, that’s a badge of honor.”
