Denny Hamlin doubts Joey Logano will be penalized for spinning tires on pit road at Richmond

Denny Hamlin doesn’t believe Joey Logano will be penalized for spinning his tires on pit road at the Cook Out 400 at Richmond on Sunday. The 43-year-old driver said on the Actions Detrimental podcast that NASCAR will likely not punish Logano since Austin Dillon wrecked him on the final lap.
“Certainly NASCAR doesn’t love any kind of acts on pit road because it’s a hot pit road and whatnot,” Hamlin said. No one is supposed to be over the wall at the point that the cars are coming onto pit road, but it has gotten loose over time. Maybe they tighten that up a little bit.
“He was seeing red at the moment and he saw the guys on [Dillon’s] team, so he did a burnout in front of them. I don’t know, I doubt they’ll do anything.”
Logano was moments away from winning the race before Dillon wrecked him. Once the race was over, Logano did not hold back his thoughts on Dillion wrecking him to get the win.
Joey Logano says Austin Dillon ‘sucks’
“No, when you get that far ahead, three four car lengths ahead in three. I didn’t back up the entry, I was like, ‘I’ll just wrap the bottom here, I’m good.’ And he just drives in so hard,” Logano said when asked if he saw Dillon’s move coming. “Obviously, he didn’t make the turn because he hit me and the 11 was going to win the race. So, he had no intention to race. I beat him fair and square on the restart and he just pulled a chickenshit move. He’s a piece of crap, he sucks. He’s sucked his whole career, and now he’s going to be in the playoffs and good for him, I guess.”

Dillon admitted to intentionally hitting Logano because he was looking to earn a playoff spot. Logano wants NASCAR to take the win away from Dillon, but he knows that’s unlikely going to happen.
“Yeah, yeah [they should take it away], they won’t. They won’t, Logano told reporters on Sunday.
When it comes to Logano’s playoff chances, he’s fine since he won the Cup Series race in Nashville back in June. But Dillon’s win impacts the drivers who on on the bubble, meaning the last three races are going to be crucial for them.
“Apparently it’s okay, what do you want me to say?” Logano stated. “Apparently, you can come from five car lengths back and completely wreck someone and then wreck another one to the line and we’re gonna call that racing.”
