Denny Hamlin echoes Carl Edwards, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Carson Hocevar warning: 'Just know that it's coming'

Carson Hocevar might soon find himself in a tough spot, Denny Hamlin warned on Monday’s “Actions Detrimental” podcast. Hocevar was involved in yet another on-track incident during Sunday’s race at Nashville Superspeedway, this time making questionable contact with Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Stenhouse went for a spin through Turns 3 and 4 on Lap 106 in Stage 2. Hocevar, riding behind Stenhouse in the corner, clearly got in the back of Stenhouse’s No. 47 Chevrolet. Prime Video‘s on-air analysts — Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards and Steve Letarte — all assigned blame to Hocevar. Hamlin echoed their thoughts, sending a message to Hocevar that his time is coming. It may be as soon as this Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.
“The Amazon guys described this perfectly,” Hamlin said. “Like, when I listened to the post-race, I thought they did a phenomenal job of saying and Carl said, ‘Eventually, they’ll be a price.’ You’re gonna be running really well and you can take this to the book: Ricky Stenhouse will absolutely wreck Carson Hocevar sometime in the near future. That’s just a fact. I’d put this week’s salary on it. I’m not kidding you. He ain’t gonna punch him in the face, but he will absolutely wreck him because Ricky’s that kind of guy who is going to feed into people saying, ‘Are you going to get him?’
“If you’re Carson, just know that it’s coming. So, don’t be surprised. … There’s nothing I’m more confident of right now other than Jordan [Fish] having a baby and Ricky wrecking Carson. I just feel that is inevitable. I don’t think there’s anything Carson can say.”
Carson Hocevar welcomes ‘talk’ with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. after wreck at Nashville
Hocevar scored his second runner-up finish of the season. He moved five spots up in the points standings, now 17th. The 22-year-old has a fast race car and is clearly talented. But whether his fault or not, he seems to always find himself in conflict. Veterans such as Kyle Busch have asked him to calm down and now, it might be Stenhouse’s turn to respond on the racetrack.
“I kind of got a run and felt like I was kinda there,” Hocevar said after the race. “That like, I felt like I was there enough, right, to get a call inside and have him kind of just run the middle. Honestly, probably could have cleared me. So, that’s just what I expected him to do, and he didn’t. And by the time I checked up, I almost spun too.

“So, yeah, if he wants to talk, I’ll be glad to talk. I feel like it’s just a product of this, unfortunately. Just everybody just kind of tries to get there. I think there were a bunch of people that got shipped that either didn’t wreck or did get wrecked.”
Denny Hamlin compliments Prime Video team for commentary about Carson Hocevar
Hamlin said that to this point, Hocevar hasn’t done anything egregious to him. If that changes, Hamlin will be there to set him straight.
“This is where I think Amazon did a great job,” Hamlin said. “Their analysts said that Carson had a shot to be empathetic to Ricky Stenhouse, who he just wrecked, in an interview and he chose not to. He [Hocevar] said, ‘He could have cut me a break.’ Hold on, this guy is wrecked, on the trailer and you’re telling him he should have cut you a break? It’s gonna come back to him.
“… Carson hasn’t done anything egregious to me, yet, but I guarantee you that if he does, I’m going to get him because he has gotten a lot of people, and they haven’t done anything about it.”
