Denny Hamlin suffers blown engine racing for the lead in Martinsville playoff race
Another Toyota engine has blown! TRD might have issues, as Chase Briscoe and Denny Hamlin have suffered engine failures. Martinsville has been unforgiving for the two drivers already locked into the Championship 4.
Denny Hamlin had a starter issue in qualifying. Now, his engine blows up while racing in P2 behind Ryan Blaney. Chase Briscoe suffered a similar failure just laps before. Riley Herbst then had an issue that sent him to the garage. Three Toyotas in quick succession.
The mechanical issues must stop now. There is no world in which these problems are remotely acceptable next week at Phoenix.
