What an effort from Denny Hamlin! The veteran driver wins the Championship 4 pole award at Phoenix Raceway. The 11 team is ready to put it all out on the track and win this title. All of the pressure is building. Can Hamlin handle it, or will it be too much?

Denny Hamlin has made his line in the sand. He is pumped up and ready to win this championship. While the race will be the real challenge, having P1 to start and the best pit box is going to make it a little bit easier.

Chase Briscoe had a tough qualifying effort and will start P12. William Byron will start P2 with Kyle Larson behind him in P3. All three of them are chasing Hamlin.

Denny Hamlin wants to win for his dad

This race means so much more. That is strange to say when it is a championship race, but it is true. For Denny Hamlin, the race means getting to reach the pinnacle of his career while his dad is still around to see it happen.

Dennis Hamlin, Denny’s father, is not doing well health-wise. Ahead of the weekend, Hamlin talked about his dad and what it would mean to win this championship for him while he’s still around.

“Obviously, my dad has been a huge fan of mine, and I knew he was watching, and he knew how much 60 meant to me. Realistically, I know this is his last chance to get to see it if it does happen,” Hamlin said on Inside The Race. “… They’re the ones that made the sacrifices ultimately, right? I’m the one who said this is what I want to do, and they just had to figure out what all they were willing to sacrifice to make that happen. This is the chance if we’re going to do it, and he’s going to see it, it’s going to have to happen now.”

So, what will it be? When the checkered flag flies, will Denny Hamlin claim his championship or walk away disappointed once again?
